GameBoy Advance Wireless Adapter

motorola.gifWired reports that Motorola is making a wireless adapter for the GameBoy Advance that will allow people to play multiplayer games wirelessly, within a 30 foot range of each other. Basically it’ll be like using one of the GameBoy Advance link cables, but without the cable I imagine. The upcoming Nokia N-Gage and Sony PSP will also have wireless multiplayer capabilities, so it’s cool to see Nintendo isn’t going to be falling behind. Now I just have to find some friends that actually have a GameBoy Advance, so I’ll have someone to play with! :)

That’s the hard part…

Yeah, if only they would extend the reach of that adapter to about 600 miles instead of 30 feet, you and I could play together, Charm! :)

you know, someone might develop a program to fwd the info through the net which would make give you a little more opportunity for opponents

I think this would be really cool but have a 30 ft. range makes this really dumb, why couldn’t they put it up to like at least 10 miles! if not more. Or they should come out with a product that connects to the internet wirelessly, you may only be able to use it at your home but i would like to better then play “wirelessly” 30 ft. away! yeah thats cool.

but the only problem is, is that to play through the internet you may have to pay a monthly fee.($10 a month for example)

We linked GameBoys today using the wireless links and once linked(within 10 feet of each other), we were able to get up to 400 feet apart and still be linked. Now, you do have to be in “line of sight”, we tried an upstairs/downstairs link and it failed. Overall a very cool feature basicly for free with the purchase of the Pokemon game.
